Sailing on at the South Coast Children’s Festival

Despite windy and wet conditions, Ghostship sailed around the rocky shore of the Illawarra Performing Arts centre for the 2011 South Coast Children’s Festival. This new interactive performance was commissioned by the crew of Merringong Theatre Company and featured sailors, songs and ‘sand’wiches. Thanks go to the ‘techie’ team at Merringong for helping us shift 2.5 tonnes of sand and battle strong head winds as we tacked our way across the plaza.

“I woz poor and I woz firsty

I ‘ad nuffink to lose

So I jumped aboard wiv Nancy

On wot she called a pleasure cruise…”
